Coach Application

Along with the development and promotion of girls baseball, Yolo's other mission is the promotion and development of women coaches. We believe that these two goals are entirely complimentary as women coaches and leaders become role models for the players while the teams & girls baseball infrastructure provide opportunity for young women to become leaders. At Yolo, we intend to field competitive teams while also maintaining our commitment to the entire experience. This ranges from social & team-building events to our social media account that highlights and promotes our players and coaches on a year-round basis. We build a inclusive culture where all athletes - from the youngest to the oldest - are celebrated and made to feel a part of the Yolo family.

Below are the details and application for those interested in coaching with Yolo in fall 2026 at the Leighton Accardo tournament in Arizona.

Arizona 2026

Coaches selected for our Arizona 2026 travel program will be provided with:

Flights from their home location to/from Phoenix
Hotel & transportation in Phoenix
Yolo coaching hat, shirt and 1 other item from the team store
Per diem for food
Per diem coaching fee

Our expectations of our coaches:

Be a positive influence on your players and fellow coaches;
An eagerness to fill in and assist where needed, even if it's not with your team/players
Adaptability and proactivity; show us you can handle situations like a lost bag, injured player or last minute changes
Have the ability to travel to USA Dec 2-7, including valid passport (and visa if required)

School/Work/Coaching/Life Balance

You will receive your coaching schedule in advance. While we will not track work hours (like an 8 hour workday), if you only play 1 game in a day and have time, you will do your best to be at the field willing to help coach, cheer or just vibe with other Yolo teams. Things may come up and you may need some time for your own life - we expect you to communicate that with the GM.

Coaching Placement

While we will do our best to make this an enjoyable experience for everyone, we cannot promise which team you will be coaching or who you will be coaching with. You are applying for a position as a Yolo coach - not for a specific age group or to work with a particular co-coach. Your preferences are important to us, but trust that we put a lot of work into determining the best possible placements for each coach, with the players needs in mind.

University Students

We understand that the timing of this tournament may overlap with university exams. In recent years, we have had several coaches who have successfully applied to have exam dates deferred until their return from this trip. We have a standard letter we can provide/customize to assist you in making that request.
